Commuter: Charles O'Hara, with Evelyne
Describe your commute:
Thirty minutes on residential streets through Humewood/Hillcrest and the Annex on a cargo bike with my 20-month old daughter.
Why do you commute by bike?
I like the fresh air, the interaction with my neighbourhood, and the exercise. It can be the funnest part of my day.
What is the best part of your commute?
The best part of the commute depends on the day -- it can be Evelyne expressing joy at something she saw, it can be a nice sunny stretch that's just really beautiful or meeting someone that I haven't seen for a while and stopping and talking.
What is the worst part of your commute?
The hill on the way home! (Charles is referring to the St. Clair hill)
What is the most surprising part of your commute?
How easy and little effort it is to ride a cargo bike!
What infrastructure change would make your commute better?
Contraflow lanes in the Annex.
