Holiday Craft Fairs

The holiday season is upon us, and aside from eating lots, drinking plenty and being merry, why not pay some of the city's craft shows a visit? We here at dandy have rounded up a few that we're keen on. Best of all, they're all free to attend. So fingers crossed for a continuation of this mild weather, hop on your bicycle and give one (or all?!) of these a gander!

SKETCH Open Studio and Holiday Marketplace - December 5th, 12pm-5pm


Artscape Youngplace, Lower Level, 180 Shaw Street

Live performances, and crafts and artwork for sale - all by youth involved with SKETCH programming (aimed at creatively training youth that are at-risk, homeless or street-involved. If this initiative doesn't warm your heart, I don't know what will).

Local Maker Market - December 5-6, 12-13, 19-20, 26, 10am-7pm

Evergreen Brick Works, 550 Bayview Avenue

50+ local artists have set up shop inside converted shipping containers in the Evergreen Winter Village, offering arts and crafts, housewares and decor, jewelry, specialty foods and other handmade goods. Full list of vendors is available on the website, as some vendors will only be there for a limited time.

Santa in the Junction: Winter Market - December 7th, 11am

The Junction, Dundas St W from Indian Grove to Quebec Avenue

An outdoor winter arts market, workshops, see Santa and his elves at the Junction train platform, scavenger hunt and more. Oh, and hot chocolate. Classic.

The West End Food Co-op's 3rd Annual Holiday Food, Art + Craft ShowDecember 6th, 11am-4pm

Shop a wide range of 25+ local food artisans and craft vendors from jewelry to knit goods, ethical chocolate to vegan treats.  Free kids' activities, a S'mores station, Co-op Info sessions, live music, face painting, and some great prizes to be raffled off.

Christmas Gladstone Flea - December 12th, 10am-4pm


Curated Christmas-themed marketplace. Find unique local craft, design work, clothing, jewelry, art and more. It's as if someone went to a thrift store, sifted through until they found the best of the best and collected them all in one well-packed room. "You're welcome," said the Gladstone.
