#dandySANTA: Jeff Carson of dandyhorse magazine
Jeff Carson is the senior web editor at dandyhorse magazine and lover of all things cycling. He’s been with dandyhorse for the last couple months and has recently written a story about Chocosol’s bike-friendly chocolate making, and did a Q&A with rookie Ward 20 councillor (and bike lover) Joe Cressy.
The contest is now closed. Happy Holidays!
dandyhorse: If you could get a(nother) bike, what would it be and why?
This summer I found myself spending a lot of time on the Hamilton - Brantford Rail Trail on a pretty uncomfortable road bike, so I would love a nice touring bike. I’ve always been partial to Surly and their Long Haul Trucker would be an ideal bike for helping me get lost on trails, or trekking across the city.
Q: What bike lane(s) do you hope dandySANTA will bring for 2015?
Bike lanes on Bloor. I know there’s an environmental assessment underway, but I really can’t wait! I spend so much time travelling between the east and west end of the city and I don’t see another street with as much potential to simplify the ride as much as bike lanes on Bloor would. I’m also a supporter of the #MinimumGrid and am always happy for new bike infrastructure.
Q: What bike gear do you hope #dandySANTA puts in your stocking this year?
Lobster gloves to keep my hands warm, lights to keep me visible, a new helmet to keep my brains unscrambled ... oh man, there is a lot of bike gear I would like.
Q: What else do you hope dandySANTA delivers this year?
Can dandySANTA speed up time so I don’t have to wait for another season of Serial? I won’t know what to do with my Thursday mornings without it. And happy holidays for my friends and family … I guess, but really just more great podcasts to listen to on long rides.
Q: What is your number one tip for winter cycling?
You don’t need to go fast to warm yourself up. Take things slow and get where you’re going safely.
Thanks to @Soulpepper and @Steamwhistle for promoting bike love in the winter time
