The Bicycle Polka Ride
By Claire McFarlane
What do bikes, polka and polka dots all have in common? Why, they were all at Dufferin Grove Park this evening for the first ever Polka Ride.
Organized by Laura Pin, who is also the organizer for Ward 14 advocacy group for Cycle Toronto, this Bike Month event featured live music, a lovely bike ride to Roncesvalles and of course, polka dots!
Rider, Peter, even made his own polka dots!
Organizer, Laura, along with riders Janet and Melissa pose with a cargo bike borrowed from Curbside Cycle for the event.
What Doug lacked in polka dots he made up for in canine cuteness with his dog, Honey.
Fred Spek of the band, Camp Combo, performed throughout the ride.
Matt used one of the free Bike Share Toronto bikes that were being provided.
