Giant Toronto had their grand opening celebration for the Canadian flagship of Giant Bicycles on Friday, April 11, 2014. (Paul Nash and Murad Hassanali cut the ribbon, above.)
"We've been on Queen West for 20 years as The Cycle Shoppe," says proprietor Hassan Hassanali (above), "Now we are progressing to Giant Toronto." He thanks the support of the Queen West and the Toronto cycling community for getting them to where they are today.
The spacious store was packed with industry insiders getting a peek at the new shop.
Giant is the world's largest bicycle manufacturer, and has 1,500 stores globally. The Toronto store carries every model on offer in every size.
The Liv line is designed specifically for women. "It's designed by women, and it's raced by women," says Hassan.
Giant Toronto sells more than just bikes, they also sell a wide variety of gear.
Giant bikes are fitted to each rider with the Right Ride fitting system. Dandy editor Claire McFarlane will be fitted and will ride Giant Avail for Ride For A Dream, a bike-a-thon that strives to end violence against women.
