The Deadly Nightshades are a midnight-riding bike gang based in Toronto, Canada. Exclusive members are: Irene Stickney (Fierce Bambi), Niamh Mcmanus (Namtron), Cat Essiambre (Big Red), Meg Orlinski (Meg OHH!), Laura Mensinga (Mzungu), and Patricia Youn (Patty Milkshake). They are also a design collective.

Untainted in style and form, the “girls” are young, ambitious and eco-conscious. Members work cooperatively on eco- and industry-friendly fashion and art projects, yet a casual observer might note that the real premise behind their shenanigans is to drink “40s,” ride kick-ass bikes and cause serious trouble all over Toronto. You can spot them pedalling through the streets at night – to what is surely the best party in town – wearing matching seafoam coloured jackets with NIGHTSHADES embroidered across the back.

You can read all about their adventures at nightshadesbikecrew.blogspot.com.

The Deadly Nightshades recently starred in an eco-documentary, Night out with the Nightshades, directed by filmmaker, George Browne, aka “Charlie.” Produced by Rachel Schwab, and officially photographed by John Lee. Night out… was featured at F. A. T., during Toronto’s alternative fashion week, and the Toronto Bicycle Film Festival.
