This morning, the Ride For A Dream team took off from Yonge-Dundas Square on a ride that will take them over 3,700 kilometres east to St. John's, Newfoundland in support of the Barbra Schlifer Commemorative Clinic, in an effort to raise awareness about violence against women, especially with a younger demographic (people aged 16 - 24).
Tearful goodbyes were said and delicious coffee was drunk (thanks to Rise Espresso for that!) and founder Alexander Waddling gave a little speech and then they were off ... best of luck to Alexander Waddling, Danny “Red” Surjanac, Micah Marson and Jason Rego on your righteous adventure!
The Dream Team will be sending us a guest blog "postcard" from the road, so stay tuned for that.
In the meanwhile, here are some photos from today's send-off and the beginning of the ride.
