Bike with Mike: Ward 19 Bike Month scavenger hunt with councillor Mike Layton

Councillor Mike Layton hosts a scavenger hunt and community bike event at Christie Pits Park

City Councillor Mike Layton, of Ward 19 Trinity-Spadina, will again be hosting his community bike event Bike with Mike this Sunday at Christie Pits Park.

The main event is a scavenger hunt around the park and surrounding area. It is suggested that you bring snacks, water, a camera, and safety equipment, like a helmet and a bell. The hunt also might be easier if you partner up, so bring a friend to search with. After the hunt there will be refreshments a BBQ, plus prize announcements.

A lot of other participants and sponsors will be at Christie Pits. Urbane Cyclist and Bicycle Commons will be around to help with tire pumping and basic tune-ups. Kids’ bicycle decorating and Toronto Police bike registration will also be taking place. The newly renamed Cycle Toronto will also be at the event. Pick up a complimentary back issue of dandyhorse too. (P.S. We’re working on our new issue due in June!)

The event is free. It’s happening this Sunday May 27, 2012 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
