The world’s smallest velodrome is coming to Toronto!
The Red Bull Mini Drome is at Evergreen Brick Works on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011.
It takes skill, speed, balance, and bravado to tackle this steep and shrunken velodrome. Competitors will face a challenging ride with track speeds reaching up to 60 km/h.
Everyone who registers will get a chance to set their best time in individual time trials. The top riders will then go head-to-head until there is only one victorious cyclist left.
Registration began on Monday, September 5, 2011 at La Carrera Cycles — 106 Harbord Street, (416) 538-1203. There are still a few spots left. Riders must be 18 years of age or older. The event is free for spectators. More at RedBull.ca and Facebook.
Competitors get a complimentary issue of the NEW dandyhorse FOOD issue with Bob Blumer from the Food Network ~ and featuring photos by Christopher Kaiser in our special centre spread: Tour vs Street. Kaiser will also be competing in the mini drome event and shooting for dandyhorsemagazine.com.
The first event from January 2011 in London, UK drew top riders Chris Akrigg and Danny MacAskill, video recap below:
