What do you wear when you are biking in the wintertime?
I wear a helmet, a homemade wool headband and safety glasses on my head, and keep my neck warm with a fleece tube (and sometimes an extra scarf).
Under my rain jacket I wear regular clothing: a hoodie and a wool sweater, and on my legs, regular clothing as well as long johns and rain/wind/slush/snow pants (really, just rain pants).
For my feet, I wear two pairs of socks, waterproof boots and sometimes plastic bags on the inside. And on my hands I wear leather gloves with mitts over the top or big skiing gloves.
Why do you bike through the winter?
The same reason why I bike the rest of the year: to save money and to avoid the TTC and to stay active and healthy. I almost enjoy cycling more in bad weather because the roads are less congested.
