Why Are You on a BIXI Today and How Far Are You Going?

Lucy Bao: I’m renting it because my friend told me to. I’m not a regular bike rider. I live uptown so when I come downtown, it’s just a fun thing to do.

Vitaliy Babiy: I’m an occasional bicycle rider. The hassle of getting a bike and storing it and taking care of the bike, well I did an analysis of the costs, and I live by the harbourfront area and it’s the best way to go. It’s hassle free and, for occasional riders like me, it could not be better. I’m a chartered accountant and for professional people, if you don’t have storage, renting a bike is a much better option. Money wise it’s not an issue for me but as far as convenience goes – you can’t beat it.

On BIXI today we went from the downtown core to Mississauga – about a 45 minute ride. A couple of friends had their own bikes and I was able to keep up with them, no problem. It’s a nice ride.

Justin Wendland and Sandra Wendland

Sandra: It’s better than walking and we can see at lot more.

Justin: We were hungover and didn’t want to walk that much.

Sandra: We picked them up where you dock for the island…

Justin: …by the ferry.

Sandra: We live by Bay and College so we will ride them all the way back.

Emily Reynolds (and Suzanne Vu…who also loves BIXI bikes): I live in Mississauga and I don’t want to bring my bike on the subway. We are going to the Humane Society today. We just had a picnic at the Music Garden here.
